This little mambot resizes all images in content to the size specified in <img> and put them in a cache. It has two advantages : it reduces bandwidth and it looks better than images resized by browsers. I wrote it because the contributors of my site are used to resize images by mouse in JCE.

This new version works also with png and gif files with transparency.

Installation : 

Use installation / mambot menu of your joomla backend. Do not forget to publish the mambot.

This mambot has two parameters :
Expire : number of days after which non used images in cache are removed.
Quality : jpeg quality of generated images.
